Who Creates This Content
Every page on this website is written and reviewed by Sean Lewis, Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), the sole practitioner at Introspectus Counselling. That includes the clinical information, the policy pages, the FAQs, and the service descriptions. There is no anonymous content team or outsourced copywriter behind what you read here.
Sean holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Master of Divinity, along with a Diploma in Professional Counselling. His clinical work is informed by years of direct experience across military service, trades, pastoral ministry, and street outreach, all of which shape how he writes about mental health. You can learn more about his background and training on the About page.
Clinical and Ethical Standards
The content on this site is guided by the CCPA Code of Ethics and the CCPA Standards of Practice, the same ethical framework that governs clinical work with clients. That means the information presented here reflects the same commitment to honesty, accuracy, and professional integrity that applies in the therapy room.
When discussing therapeutic approaches, this site references evidence-based practices supported by peer-reviewed research. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and other modalities mentioned throughout the site are grounded in established clinical evidence, not trends or personal opinion.
How We Handle Accuracy
Mental health information carries real weight. Someone reading this site at 2 a.m. during a difficult night deserves content they can trust. Here is how that trust is maintained.
Clinical claims are based on current research and professional training. When specific statistics, resources, or external organizations are referenced, those sources are verified before publication. Crisis resource numbers and external links are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain active and accurate.
If something changes, whether that is a fee, a policy, or a clinical resource, the relevant page is updated promptly. Each policy page includes a “last reviewed” date so you can see when it was most recently checked.
Plain Language, Not Clinical Jargon
You will not find dense clinical terminology on this site without an explanation. Mental health information is only useful if people can actually understand it. Content is written in clear, conversational language because therapy itself should feel accessible, and so should the information that surrounds it.
When clinical terms are necessary for accuracy, they are defined in plain English. This is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. The CCPA Code of Ethics emphasizes informed consent and client autonomy, and that starts with making sure people understand what they are reading.
What This Content Is and Is Not
The information on this website is educational. It is designed to help you make informed decisions about therapy, understand your rights as a client, and learn about evidence-based approaches to mental health.
It is not a substitute for professional assessment, diagnosis, or treatment. Reading this site does not create a therapeutic relationship. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the Vancouver Island Crisis Line at 1-888-494-3888, the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline, or call 911. You can also visit our
