Introspectus Counselling, Colwood BC

Mental health assessments

Quick, private check-ins you can take on your own for free, and have reviewed with a counsellor when you want more than a number.

What is a mental health self-check?

A mental health self-check is a short, validated questionnaire that measures symptoms and gives you a score, not a diagnosis. Each one is scored in your browser the moment you finish, so nothing you answer is sent or stored. Introspectus Counselling offers these free checks with Sean Lewis, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, in Colwood, BC and online across BC.

The checks

Free self-checks you can take right now

Start with any of these. Every check is free to take and free to score, always, and it happens privately in your browser.

Anxiety check

Free check 7 questions · about 2 minutes · based on the GAD-7

A quick look at how anxiety has been showing up over the past two weeks: worry that is hard to switch off, restlessness, and a sense that something bad might happen.

  • Scored 0 to 21 the moment you finish
  • The most widely used anxiety screen in primary care
  • Leads on to anxiety counselling if you want to go further
How it works

Three quiet minutes, and nothing leaves your device

Each check is a short, well-established questionnaire. You answer honestly, see what your score means in plain language, and choose what comes next, on your own or with Sean.

1

Pick a check

Choose the one that fits what you are noticing: worry, low mood, stress, or a general sense of how you are doing.

2

Answer honestly

A few questions, a couple of minutes, entirely on your device.

3

See what it means

You get your score and what it does and does not tell you. Keep it to yourself, or bring it to a review with Sean.

Your answers never leave your device

This is the part most online checks get wrong. Ours are built so there is nothing to leak: the scoring happens in your browser, and we never see what you answered, whether you take a check for free or bring it to a paid review.

Your device NEVER SENT Our servers
Everything happens on the left of that line. There is no step where your answers travel.
  • Scored right in your browser, the moment you finish
  • No name, no sign-up, no email required to take a check
  • Nothing is stored or sent anywhere
  • Take any check as many times as you like

Two appointments. Pick the one you actually need.

A score is a starting point, not the whole story. These are separate bookings for separate reasons, so choose by what you are after; you never need both.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Do I have to pay?

No. Every check is free to take and free to score, always. Booking a review with Sean to talk through your results is an optional paid step, and the free checks never sit behind a paywall.

Are these a diagnosis?

No. They are screening tools that measure symptoms; they do not diagnose. A high or low score is a good reason to start a conversation, not a conclusion on its own.

Who sees my answers?

No one. The check runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you answer is sent to us or stored anywhere. If you book a review, you choose what to share in the room.

What if my score is high?

It means these symptoms are worth paying attention to, not that something is wrong with you. Your results page points you toward next steps, and crisis support is always one tap away if you need it now.

Can my employer or anyone else see my results?

Never. Even where an organization offers these checks to its people, results belong to you alone. No employer, union, or third party ever sees an individual's answers or scores.

Who are these for?

Adults 19 and older who want a clearer sense of how they are doing. They are a starting point for reflection, not a substitute for care from a doctor or another qualified professional.

Free tools as they are built, and writing that tries to be useful rather than long. Lately that has meant a burnout check, a quick trauma screen, and worksheets for the days when thinking will not slow down. A short note when something new goes up, usually once or twice a month.
